Porting Numbers

If you have a phone number and want to transfer it to Yobi, follow these steps for a smooth process:

Porting a Local Number #

  1. Check Subscription: Ensure your subscription plan includes the porting feature.
  2. Have a Yobi Account: If you don’t have one yet, signup here.
  3. Contact Support: Email us at [email protected] with the following information:
    • Full Name
    • Email Address
    • Business Name
    • Phone Number to Port
    • Current Phone Carrier
    • Copy of Your Latest Billing Statement
  4. Wait for Confirmation: A support agent will confirm when your number has been successfully ported to Yobi.
  5. Start Using Your Number: Once ported, you can make calls and send SMS from Yobi using your local number.

Porting a local number usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. You can continue using your number during this period. You’ll receive regular updates on the progress until the porting is completed successfully.

Porting a Toll-Free Number #

  1. Release the Number: The old carrier needs to release the toll-free number to the new carrier.
  2. Finalize Re-routing: The new carrier completes the process of re-routing the number.
  3. Continued Service: The old carrier typically continues service on the number until the new carrier finishes porting it.

Porting a toll-free number is more complex and involves coordination between the old and new carriers. The porting process will not occur until both carriers begin the process.
